The Challenge
Creating a national coding event dashboard capable of displaying real-time ranking adjustments for thousands of concurrent contestants without delay, while maintaining anti-cheat integrity and high availability under load spikes.
The Solution
Designed a lightweight, highly cached scoreboard architecture. We utilized WebSockets via Socket.io for instantaneous update broadcasts and Redis sorted sets to compute ranking positions with O(log N) time complexity, ensuring a lag-free experience.
